Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

A person who feels tired all of the time and continues to feel tired no matter what one tries to do to stay active could be someone who is suffering from a medical condition. This is a condition known as chronic fatigue syndrome. It is a condition that is legitimate in that it can impact one’s ability to work or be active in one’s life. However there are not many things that are fully known about this condition.

The basic effect of this disorder is that the body will feel tired for most of the time. This includes feeling tired even after getting a good amount of sleep. In fact sometimes the fatigue that one deals with after sleeping can get to be worse after resting than what it was beforehand. As a result the body will be impaired with regards to be able to stay physically active and it can be difficult for the brain to act along with it.

Because of how this is a relatively new condition it is not fully known as to what causes this condition. It is believed that genetics and improper brain functions might be causes. Others argue that various infections, including measles and yeast infections, can cause this syndrome. Even with all of these leads it is not fully known as to what the cause is.

In addition to feeling tired a person who has chronic fatigue syndrome might be suffering from other common symptoms. For example, a person may be suffering from muscle pains that can be created following some kind of physical activity with these pains not going away easily after a while. Sweating in even the slightest instances can happen.

Some symptoms can be even more serious. For example, a person can suffer from an irregular heartbeat that can impact one’s blood pressure. Another concern is that it can cause chest pains. Even depression can occur due to the lack of activity that one is dealing with.

Although these symptoms are well known being able to diagnose chronic fatigue syndrome can be a difficult thing to do. Tests that work with handling other conditions can be used though. For example, a complete blood count test can be used to see if a blood deficiency is causing the condition. A test of one’s thyroid gland should also be done as a means of taking a look at the way how the gland functions because improper functions may be a something that relates to the fatigue that one is dealing with.

Also, there is no real set standard as to what type of treatment option can work best for one’s needs. It is believed that the use of antidepressants can work to help with making the body more active by helping to regulate the brain’s activities. Pain relievers, including many that can be bought over the counter, may also be able to help with treating this condition. It is best to talk with a psychologist before determining if some kind of treatment is best for one’s needs.
